The Art of Teaching: IUS ELT and ELIT Students Celebrate Teacher’s Day
On Thursday, November 28, 2024, students from the English Language and Literature, Teaching (ELT) and English Language and Literature (ELIT) study programs, led by Ms. Aysenur Kalem, organized a heartfelt event in celebration of Teacher’s Day—a day dedicated to recognizing the profound contributions of educators to individuals and society.
Dr. Almasa Mulalić, in her opening speech, highlighted the central role teachers play in shaping the younger generations who will become leaders in their respective fields. Dr. Emina Jelešković encouraged students to reflect on their future roles as educators, sharing impactful personal experiences that illustrated the enduring influence of teachers on students' lives. Additionally, Dr. Vesna Suljić offered an insightful perspective on the historical significance of Teacher’s Day, describing teaching as more than a career—it is a calling and a lifelong commitment to inspire, guide, and nurture future generations.
The celebration also included moving performances by students from the ELT and TLT (Turkish Language and Literature Teaching) programs, featuring poetry readings and songs that resonated deeply with the audience, leaving a lasting impression.
