Mirela Alikalfić-Terzić Inspires ELIT and ELT Students with Guest Lecture on Translation and Interpreting

On Monday, May 25, 2026, the English Language and Literature (ELIT) and English Language and Literature, Teaching (ELT) study programs at the International University of Sarajevo welcomed Mirela Alikalfić-Terzić for a guest lecture titled “How to Become a Translator and Interpreter – A Not So Typical Career.”

During the lecture, the guest speaker shared valuable insights into the profession of translation and interpreting, offering students a broader understanding of this dynamic career path and its strong connection with other professional fields. In addition to discussing the role of translators and interpreters, she highlighted the importance of related competencies in areas such as project management, operational planning, and monitoring and evaluation.

The lecture provided ELIT and ELT students with a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the value of multidisciplinary knowledge and the wide range of skills required in today’s professional environment.
