Expanding Expertise: ELIT and ELT Staff Attend Online Webinar on Autism and ADHD
On Saturday, April 4, 2026, three members of the English Language and Literature (ELIT) and English Language and Literature, Teaching (ELT) faculty staff, Prof. Dr. Almasa Mulalić, Associate Prof. Dr. Vesna Suljić and Dr. Damir Kahrić, attended an online webinar titled “Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)”.
The webinar was delivered by Senada Bajmaković-Kacila, MD, Psychiatry Residency Training Director and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Rush Medical College, Illinois, USA, as well as Medical Director of the Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic. The session was moderated by Jasmina Salčinović-Spahić.
The lecture addressed autism spectrum disorder and ADHD in both children and adults, offering a comprehensive overview of potential causes, including genetic and environmental factors. In addition, it explored a range of support approaches, such as educational and family-based therapies, along with relevant medical and mental health considerations.
This highly informative and interdisciplinary webinar successfully brought together perspectives from education, behavioral sciences and medicine, providing valuable insights applicable to contemporary educational practices and understanding. Participation in such events enhances the ability of academic staff to better understand diverse student needs and to adopt more inclusive and effective pedagogical approaches.
